We’re Back

Maui Sunrise

That’s right, we’re back! Maui was awesome! I so did not want to come back. I’m ready to move to Hawaii.

We actually got back Saturday night. I tried to stay away from my computer on Sunday and Monday to extend my vacation. Tuesday I played catch-up, and tried to get back in the work mode. Unfortunately, I threw my back out Tuesday afternoon. I spent all day today laying in bed, on an ice pack. It sucks. The only real good side to throwing my back out, is I had some time to go through my Hawaii pictures. I pulled my iBook into bed, and put together a site for our trip.

As it turns out, my trouble uploading photos from Maui was probably not my connection. I was using iWeb, and my .Mac account to host the images. iWeb 1.1 had a bug that caused some people to have problems uploading to .Mac. I was one of those people. But, Apple has released iWeb 1.1.1, and that seems to have fixed the problem.

I’m still in the process of catching up, so if you’ve emailed me lately… I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. I should also have some new posts up tomorrow.

Aloha

odl in Maui

Aloha from Maui. I haven’t had much time to get online, or write about the trip so far, but I did throw some images together that I was going to publish. But, I seem to be having some technical difficulty uploading them. The internet connection here is a bit flakey, so that may be it. I’ll try again later… right now the beach is calling my name.

We’re going to Hawaii!

Maui

We are gone on vacation… in Maui! In fact, at the moment this gets posted we’ll be on a plane. How did I post this from the plane, you may ask. Well, I didn’t. I actually wrote it last night, and date-stamped it not to show up until 8:40am Saturday.

WooHoo! I’m so excited to go to Hawaii! Neither of us have ever been. We’ll have a whole week there. We’ll be staying on the west (beach) side for 5 nights, and the east (rain forest) side for 2 nights. We are meeting some friends there, and have all kinds of fun things planned.

Luckily, this was all booked and paid for back in January, before I had my tax trouble in April. Otherwise, we would probably be spending this week here at home.

We’ll have internet access for at least the first 5 days, so I’ll probably be logging in from time to time, but if no new posts appear… that means I’m having a beer or three at the beach, and I can’t make it back to my computer.

Now you know why I’ve been looking at new earphones and waterproof iPod cases ;)

Not all Intel Macs will Run Windows Vista

If you are planning on running Windows Vista (if it ever comes out) on your shiny new Intel powered Mac, you may want to have a look at this article over at TUAW. It gives the system requirements for Vista. Unfortunately, the MacBook, and the Mini don’t qualify. If you own one of those machines you’ll be sticking with XP.
