I really love Apple’s new iPad 2 commercial. Unlike their competitors, Apple tends to avoid spewing specifications that most people don’t understand anyway. This is a shining example of good advertising. It promotes a user-experience over gigahertz and megabytes.
This “billboard” for Hot Wheels is simply brilliant! Unlike most advertising which tends to concentrate on a specific product, this iconic loop is simply designed to evoke a pleasant childhood memory. It’s brand-building at it’s best.
I actually really like this new campaign by T-Mobile. I would go as far as to say they’re slightly brilliant, as the ads manage to say they’re the best, without saying anything negative at all about the iPhone or Apple. You can tell, they totally want to sell the iPhone. If this campaign lasts long enough, I bet we’ll see the iPhone guy hookup with the T-Mobile girl.
This clip is a little old and a little rough, but it’s a must-watch for anyone who’s interested in Marketing or Branding. This was recorded when Steve introduced the Think Different campaign.
My wife was in Phoenix recently visiting her parents. She sent me this email (she has a Macbook):
So I was printing out my boarding card… I plugged dad’s printer into my computer… and he said “oh, oh you will need a driver” and I replied “really???, well let me try.”
I checked my control panel, saw the printer, and printed, VOILA!… my dad looked slightly impressed and asked a few questions (wink, I think I won that round).
I absolutely loved reading this. It totally reminded me of those Apple “Switch” ads. Apple could start using those again, today, and they would still be relevant.
Apparently this came out about a year ago, but I totally missed it. It’s Bruce Campbell singing the Duran Duran classic, Hungry like the Wolf, for an Old Spice commercial. I love it! When did Old Spice get so hip?
