Sunday at Fort Funston

©2005 Paul Burd. All Rights Reserved. I don’t mind working weekends much, if it’s nasty outside, but I had to work most of this past weekend, and it was simply beautiful outside. I had to get out for at least a little while. So, on Sunday afternoon, anne marie, emmitt, and I went out for … Read more

Emmitt at Fort Funston

Saturday I took Emmitt out to Fort Funston. He really loves it there. He pretty much runs until he wears himself out… keeping the beach safe from birds. We were out there for a few hours. I think he hopes we’ll move there. I took some great shots that I’ll try to post later.

Fort Funston

Last Sunday we went out to Fort Funston. We had actually intended on staying home and catching up on a few things, but it was such a beautiful day, that we decided to go out and play. We took Emmitt and he loved it. He chased birds all afternoon. The leash law is a bit … Read more

Save Off-Leash Dog Walking in the San Francisco Bay Area

I moved to San Francisco in 2003, and I’ve always taken our dogs to Fort Funston – a wonderful off-leash beach about 20 minutes away from our house. The picture (above) is our dog, Maggie Moo, enjoying some time on the beach. Although San Francisco is generally fairly dog friendly, there actually aren’t that many … Read more

Simulate different films and cameras on your iPhone, with CameraBag

I’ve been using the iPhone application, CameraBag, for a while now and I’m really happy with it. It’s a must-have application that actually makes the crappy little camera in the iPhone usable. We’re home

Well, we finally made it home. We’ve actually been home for a week now. Last Friday (3/30) Anne Marie flew to Phoenix, in order to drive home with me over the weekend. We left Saturday afternoon and made it as far as Barstow, CA. We finished the drive on Sunday. My hand held up OK, … Read more

Rest in Peace, Dave

Dave was diagnosed with Cancer about six months ago. He was only in his mid-forties. He went into … Read more

Saying Goodbye

Last weekend we said goodbye to Emmitt. A couple of friends came with us out to Fort Funston, one of Emmitt’s favorite places, where we laid his ashes to rest. We got really lucky with the weather. It was a beautiful, sunny, clear day… exactly the kind of day we would have normally taken Emmitt … Read more

Taco Bell on the Beach

Last weekend we went down to Fort Funston to give Emmitt (our dog) a run on the beach. Afterwards we went to one of my favorite places… A Taco Bell that’s right on the beach. They have a huge back deck that is right on the sand. I can’t tell you exactly where it is, … Read more

Beach Bulb?

Today we went out to Fort Funston to give Emmitt (our dog) a run. We were walking down the beach, when I happened to come across a light bulb. What a strange thing to find on a beach I thought. Fort Funston isn’t exactly remote, but there isn’t much around the water that it could … Read more
