Fun in San Diego

anne marie on Mission Beach

We just got back from San Diego for a long-weekend vacation. It was great! Although we did have a bit of ‘June Gloom’. It was a bit chilly and overcast most of the time, but we still had a lot of fun relaxing on the beach. We visiteted the old favorites… Kono’s for Breakfast, Luigees (sp?) for pizza, and plenty of Dairy Queen stops. We also tried a new place, ‘Gringo’s’, for dinner one night. They have great food and really good Margaritas.

Unfortunately, my back went out again as soon as we got back home :(

Fond Memories

Booger at Lake Powell

Tonight was fun. Anne Marie and I polished off the better part of a bottle of vodka while sitting out on the patio at sunset. We talked about a variety of topics. During the course of the conversation I told her the story of how I got Booger, my old dog who passed away recently. I have to admit getting a little teary while telling the story…

Booger wasn’t actually my firsft choice. I was at the pound, and had picked out the dog I wanted. When I went to the counter to claim him, the woman in front of me in line had asked for the dog I wanted. With disapointment I went back to the kennels to look some more. I came across two puppies. When I nealed down and put my fingers through the fencing only one of them came to me. It was Booger. He was only three months old. He came home with me that day and was a good friend for 15 years.

Tempe / San Francisco Homes

Well, it’s official. After a grueling 14 hour, all-night drive, I am officially moved from Tempe to San Francisco. All of my junk is finally here. It’s a bit of a mess, but it’s here. It feels so good to be moved. Having some stuff here, and some in Tempe was anchoring me there. Even though I’ve been here full time since February, it didn’t really feel like I had actually moved.

I had a nice life in AZ, and I’ll really miss my friends (I wish they would move here too), but I am sooooo looking forward to a new chapter in my life in a new city, with a new girl. As you can see from the picture, it’s going to be a very different living experience for me. :)

Almost done

So I’ve been in Phoenix since Thursday afternoon. I’m here to finalize my move to San Francisco. We have had a couple of yard sales, and been cleaning up the house. Things are coming along nicely, but I can’t wait to be done. I’m looking forward to getting home (SF). Although I’m really not looking forward to that drive again. It’s so long and boring. I’ll be hitting the road early Monday morning. I miss anne marie, I can’t wait to see her.

It’s supposed to be 104 degrees here tomorrow :(

I’ve been bumped

I occasionally google myself to see where I rank. I am typically first in the results, but this morning I found that I have finally been bumped down to number two. Paul Burd car sales has taken the lead. Bummer :(

new breakfast place

Last night anne marie and I went to a BBQ at a friends house. One of the people there suggested a breakfast place with outdoor seating (I love eating outdoors) in the Castro called ‘The Patio’. We tried to go there this morning and found out that it had closed 4 years ago. I guess he hadn’t been there in a while.

But, we did find a great little place called ‘LUNA’. It’s at 558 Castro Street. It has a beautiful back patio / lush garden. It is reasonably priced (for San Francisco), and has very good breakfast. I would reccomend it. The only downside was they don’t offer toast with Breakfast, just biscuits. I like my toast :)

hello world!

This is my very first post, on my very first ‘blog’. I don’t know exactly what I will be doing with this site. I was just curious about the world of blogging, and learning more about building & maintaining dynamic sites (php, mySQL, CSS, etc…). I hope people enjoy whatever ends up going here. ~ p a u l
