That’s right, if we’re not careful this woman could be our next Vice President (or president!). This clip is from Sarah Palin’s 1984 Miss Alaska swimsuit competition.
Don’t let this happen. Get out and vote!

Huh?
While I agree that Sarah Palin is a scary moron, how does having competed in a swimsuit competition disqualify you from leadership? To imply that a woman is incapable of intelligence or leadership because she has also made use of her beauty is just as awful as it would be to assume Obama couldn’t hack it because he self-identifies as an African American.
I’m sorry, Paul, but this is a shallow, sexist post.
Sincerely,
-danny
Thanks for the feedback, Danny. I don’t think I can agree though that this is a sexist post. After all, I’m not actually saying she’s unqualified because she’s a woman. She’s unqualified because she’s an idiot.
However, I will concede that I chose this clip strictly because (I believe) it makes her look bad. It doesn’t actually illustrate why she is, or isn’t, qualified. Although, I will say that participating in this kind of contest does shed some light onto someone’s character and values… which is also part of determining if they should be elected to the office of VP. I also think that, generally speaking, anyone who has “beauty pageant” listed in their career path can’t be taken too seriously.
This post was really just a little prodding to try and remind people to vote. I’m relying on the premise that everone should know who Sarah Palin is, and what she stands for, by now… and that I don’t need to go into detail as to why she shouldn’t be elected.
