This post is a question for other WordPress users.
If you’ve ever left a comment on any of my stories, you know that I leave the process of authorizing your comment in you hands, through an email that gets sent to you with a link to finalize the posting of your comment. I do this through the use of the Comment Authorization plugin from Skippy.net.
I love the plugin, and most of the time this system works great. However, there are times when people don’t complete the authorization process and the comments sit in the moderation que until I go clear them out, along with any spam that has accumulated.
My goal is to never have to look in the que again. I’ve been looking around for a plugin that could monitor the moderation que, and automatically delete comments that are older than XX days. This would clear out the abandoned comments and have the added benefit of clearing out the spam as well.
So far, I haven’t been able to find anything. Does anyone know of such a plugin? Does anyone want to take up the challenge of making one?

Do you still get spam comments actually posted through to the site? Or do the spammers not want to go through that extra step of clicking an email reply back? That’s enough reason to switch to WordPress from MT right there! :)
I almost never get spam comments that actually make it through and get posted, but I get a ton of them in the moderation que. Right now I have to go clear them out manually… and it’s a bit of a pain. I still haven’t found a way to auto-delete comments that are x-number of days old.
I’ve never used MT, so I can’t really compare them… but I will say I’m a big WP fan.
What I want to do on my blog, is every few hours take the oldest post and move it to the
front of the queue, all automatically. Anyone know if there is a plugin that can do this or
a simple way to set up another plugin to do this (use my own feed perhaps)?
Thanks.
