A PodCast by any other name…

Zencast

Delivering content via the internet in the form of an mp3 is nothing new. It’s been going on long before anyone ever heard the term PodCast, and Apple certainly didn’t invent the process. Apple was just really lucky that Ben Hammersley came up with that name, and it stuck.

You know the folks over at Creative Technologies, maker of that other popular mp3 player, just cringe every time they hear the word PodCast. So much so, that they are trying to rename them ZENcasts, and they are actually trying to convince people that PodCast is a generic term short for “Personal On Demand broadcast“. Come on Creative… give me a break.
