Compliment Spotlight with EasyFind

EasyFind

While there are times I very much appreciate the power of Apple’s Spotlight search technology, there are other times when I find it very annoying. Those are usually the times when I know for sure what I’m looking for isn’t contained in a PDF, or an email, or an iCal event… and I would prefer not to waste time looking through that stuff. This is where EasyFind, by Devon Technologies, really comes in handy. EasyFind is a much more versatile tool when it comes to searching. There are a variety of options and settings so you only spend time searching for what you want. Also, EasyFind doesn’t require your files to be indexed, like Spotlight, which can be a big plus. Best of all… it’s free!

Classic, and B-Movies for FREE

Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women

So after ripping all of your DVD’s, you still need more content for that 5G video iPod of yours. Well, look no further than Public Domain Torrents. It’s a site dedicated to Public Domain Movies. These are movies that for whatever reason, have become part of the public domain… that means they are no longer under copyright protection. You can grab such classics as Plan 9 from Outer Space, Night of the Living Dead, or Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women. Best of all, it’s free, and you don’t have to worry about getting into trouble for copyright violation.

As of now, most of the movies aren’t offered as iPod compatible formats so you’ll have to convert them yourself. Or, you can just enjoy them on your computer. All you need is a BitTorrent application.

I’m selling a 40GB iPod Photo (with Extras)

Apple iPod Photo 40GB

As many of you know, I recently bought a new 60GB iPod. So, I’ve decided to sell my 40GB iPod Photo. It’s less than one year old, and in great shape. I’ve always treated it very well. I have all the accessories that came with it, and the original box. I’m also including an Apple inline remote, a Griifin iTrip w/ LCD, and a Lilipod Waterproof Case.

If anyone is interested, you should check out my eBay auction. This is my first time selling anything on eBay. I hope it goes well.

If you’re not interested, but know someone who is, please forward the auction to them. If you are another blogger that comes to this site… feel free to mention my auction on your site… I would appreciate it. :)

UPDATE (12.07.05):
It Sold! Congratulations go out to 9john272. He’s now the proud new owner of a 40GB iPod Photo. I hope he enjoys it as much as I did.

I was a little worried that I had priced it a little too high. When I started, I had a reserve price set to $299.99, and a ‘buy it now’ price set to $349. I started thinking that I was a bit high, so I reduced the reserve to $279, and the buy it now to $339. It sold after less then 24hrs listed (in a 7 day auction), using the Buy it Now option. Maybe I should have left the prices where they were… oh well, I’m just happy it went well.

Apple adds more TV shows to iTunes

iTunes TV Shows

Apple and NBC Universal today announced a lineup of new primetime, cable, late-night and classic TV shows available on the iTunes Music Store. Some of the shows include Law & Order, Battlestar Galactica, Monk, and Knight Rider. iTunes now offers more than 300 episodes of 16 TV shows for viewing on a computer or iPod.

We are huge Law & Order fans, but luckily for us they are only offering the 1st season, and the current season… I would go broke if they offered all 16 seasons.

Macromedia is gone

Formerly Macromedia

Well… it’s official. On Saturday Adobe announced the buyout of Macromedia is complete. You can now buy all of Macromedia’s products over at the Adobe store. They even have special design and web bundles that are comprised of products from both companies. The Macromedia logo is also no longer on their site. It probably won’t be too long before we see packaging updates as well.
