Tiger available April 29th

Tiger available april 29th

It’s official! Mac OSX 10.4 (Tiger) will be available on April 29th, at 6:00pm. I can’t wait! I want it now! I’m really looking forward to some of the new features.

If you haven’t already done so, you can order Tiger at Amazon. They are offering a $35 rebate, with free shipping, bringing the price down to $94.99.

UPDATE: So it looks like Amazon is playing the now-its-here, now-its-not game again. When they first started listing Tiger, and the rebate, it would appear on the site, and then switch to “not available”, and then come back. It appears to be gone again. What the hell!?! I’ve already ordered it! Am I going to get it, and my rebate, or not!?!

UPDATE #2: Only 2 minutes after writing the last update, Tiger & the rebate are back! I wish Amazon would make up their mind!

Update #3: I just found out that OWC is selling it for $99 (through 4/28), without the hassle of the rebate. I was going to cancel my order from Amazon and re-order from OWC, but I want Tiger so bad I think I’m just going to buy it on the 29th from the Apple Store. If you miss the OWC price, and are more patient than I am, you can take advantage of the Amazon rebate through 5/31.
