Seiko Epson promises electronic paper within five years: “We seriously have this weird deja vu thing about this story, but Seiko Epson just announced that they’re working on a new kind of electronic paper that is just 0.2mm thick and can be folded and rolled up just like regular paper. They aren’t exactly the first company to get digital ink on their fingers (Philips, E Ink, and Sony are all mixed up together), but they are pretty confident that they’ll be able to deliver on all those sci-fi promises and have electronic paper newspapers that let you download the day’s news into people’s hands within five years. Sometime after that: perfectly flat TVs that you can literally peel off of your walls.”
