OQO Ultra Personal Computer

The OQO Ultra-Personal Computer

OQO has announced their Ultra Personal Computer, available later this year. It looks really cool! I just wish it was Mac based :(

from the site…
“The OQO model 01 ultra personal computer (uPC) is a fully-functional Windows XP computer. The OQO has a 1GHz processor, a 20GB hard drive, 256MB of RAM, a color transflective display, and integrated wireless, as well as Fire Wire and USB ports. It is powerful enough to run your most complex applications.

Just 4.9 inches long, 3.4 inches wide, .9 inches thin, and weighing only 14 ounces, the OQO can fit in a pocket or purse and go with you anywhere. For easy typing and cursor control it has a complete thumb keyboard with TrackStik and mouse buttons as well as digital pen and thumbwheel. It is the much anticipated device for people who previously had to choose between the bulk and awkwardness of a laptop and the limited capability of a PDA.” more…

Collateral

Movie: Collateral

1 Star

Yesterday we were at Ikea (in Emeryville) doing a little shopping and we decided to see a movie at the AMC next door. Unfortunately for us, the only movie that was about to start was ‘Collateral’, the new Tom Cruiz, Jamie Fox movie. In a word… Stinko! It starts out slow… and and then gets slower. The movie never actually picks up, or goes anywhere. It was basically two hours that we’ll never get back. I can’t recall another Tom Cruiz movie that was so boring. I can only give Collateral one star… and you get one star for just making a movie.

iVan

iVan: iPod spoof

from engadget.com…
“At least some folks are finding some humor in the seemingly endless wrath that Mother Nature has been bringing down on Florida lately:”

“Welcome to yet another hurricane, 145+ winds. Can ruin Mac, PC and iPod. The new Hurricane iVan.”

Way to go Steve!

Caples Lake Hike

Kirkwood Hike near Caples Lake

This weekend we went up to our friend’s condo in Kirkwood. We had a good time. We went for an 8 mile hike around Caples Lake, and up to the upper lake (I can’t remember the name). Emmitt ran the entire way. He ran up and back, and side-to-side across the trail. I would bet that the hike for him was at least 32 miles, possibly up to 48 miles. He’s a tired little doggy now.

One Year Together

Me and anne marie at Los Dos

Yesterday marked my one year anniversary with anne marie. She makes me so happy. It’s been a wonderful year, and I look forward to many more years together.

Hero

Hero, the movie

4 Stars

Last night we saw Hero. It was awesome. It was visually stunning, with excellent cinematography and seamless ‘effects’. The story was told in a concise and compelling manner, using visual cues to aid in the storytelling. I highly recommend this film. It only lost one star in my rating because the subtitles are sometimes a little to quick to read. If you liked Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, you’ll love Hero.
