Spiderman 2

Spiderman 2 movie

2 Stars

Last night anne marie and I went to see Spiderman 2. We were very disappointed. We simply wanted some mindless entertainment, but it couldn’t even do that. It’s just over two hours, but it felt like four to me. The story is all over the place, to many little sub-stories. There is a nice train sequence about 3/4 of the way through that was entertaining, but you have to sit through a lot of junk first. Spiderman 2 should have been the legnth of an old episode of the cartoon… 30 minutes. Than it would have been perfect. Save you money and see it as a matinee, if at all.

Big bloomers or freak plant

Really Big Flowers

A friend gave us this little tree (thanks Chan). It’s only about 4 feet tall, but it has recently grown some really big flowers. I have no idea what kind of tree it is.

Don’t pee on my street!

Bus Stop or Toilet?

So this is a bus stop near home (4th and Folsom). For some unknown reason, people seem to think this bus stop looks like a toilet. Yes, some of them are bumbs, but I also see relatively average, normal looking people taking a wiz here, in broad daylight, while waiting for a bus.

The other day I was walking Emmitt (my dog) here about noon, and there was a guy who wasn’t even facing the wall, has had his back to the bus stop and was facing me. He was wizzing on the sidewalk. He had his willie in one hand, and actually had the nerve to wave at me, asking for a cigarette, with his other hand as I walked by. I simply looked at him in disgust.

This is apparently happening every day. I don’t always see the people doing it, but there is a constant wet-spot on the sidewalk. I am so disgusted that I felt compelled to put up this sign. I don’t know if it will actually help, but hopefully it will at least discourage the casual wizzer.

Go Team!

San Francisco Giants Tickets

Last night anne marie and I went to a San Francisco Giants game. It was a work outing through her firm. It was my very first baseball game. I tried to maximize my baseball experience… I had three $8 beers, two $5 hotdogs, and a $3 (small) bag of peanuts. It was fun, I actually had a really good time.

There were a few things I was expecting to see, and didn’t. They don’t have guys walking the isles selling beer. I didn’t see any vendors hucking peanuts into the croud, and there was virtually no organ playing. That was a big dissapointment.

Ironically we (SF) were playing Arizona (my recently former home). We killed ’em!

Apple Phone?

Isamu Sawada's hiPhone

Is Apple in the phone business? Unfortunately, the answer is no, they are not. But that doesn’t stop Isamu Sawada from making his own. I don’t know what this guy does for a living, but in his spare time he likes making his own Apple products, and he has some nice ones. Unfortunately, they are just 3-D renderings, not the real thing. Check out his site to see more.

“My first personal computer was Macintosh LC . Thereafter I have been strongly
attracted to Macs. Macs have incredibly changed in the past. I believe Macs will
have great evolutions many times in the future. In this homepage, I display my
imaginary designs of future apple products. Please take a look at them.”

July 4th in Kirkwood

anne marie in kirkwood

We had the opportunity to spend the 4th of July weekend in Kirkwood. A friend has a condo there. Kirkwood is a resort town about 3.5 hours north-east of San Francisco, in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

It is really beautiful up there. Emmitt (our dog) had one of the best times of his life exploring a giant meadow. He was a happy dog. We rode the chair-lift to the top of the mountain, it was a spectacular view.
