I’ve decided to go ahead and open up this blog to a select group of friends. The posts on this site will no longer be strictly mine.

David Lee Roth on Sopranos?

David Lee Roth on Sopranos

So I’m pretty new to The Sopranos. Since I’ve moved in with anne marie she has been introducing me to the show. We don’t have cable (yet), but anne marie’s mom tapes them and sends them to her. Anyway, we were watching a couple of episodes last night. The scene was a poker game with the whole gang. To my surprise I see David Lee Roth, former front-man of Van Halen, sitting next to Tony at the game. He only had one line, it was just a cameo appearance. But it was funny to see him there.

Fun in San Diego

anne marie on Mission Beach

We just got back from San Diego for a long-weekend vacation. It was great! Although we did have a bit of ‘June Gloom’. It was a bit chilly and overcast most of the time, but we still had a lot of fun relaxing on the beach. We visiteted the old favorites… Kono’s for Breakfast, Luigees (sp?) for pizza, and plenty of Dairy Queen stops. We also tried a new place, ‘Gringo’s’, for dinner one night. They have great food and really good Margaritas.

Unfortunately, my back went out again as soon as we got back home :(

Fond Memories

Booger at Lake Powell

Tonight was fun. Anne Marie and I polished off the better part of a bottle of vodka while sitting out on the patio at sunset. We talked about a variety of topics. During the course of the conversation I told her the story of how I got Booger, my old dog who passed away recently. I have to admit getting a little teary while telling the story…

Booger wasn’t actually my firsft choice. I was at the pound, and had picked out the dog I wanted. When I went to the counter to claim him, the woman in front of me in line had asked for the dog I wanted. With disapointment I went back to the kennels to look some more. I came across two puppies. When I nealed down and put my fingers through the fencing only one of them came to me. It was Booger. He was only three months old. He came home with me that day and was a good friend for 15 years.

Retrieve email information from Apple’s Address Book

— From Mac OSX Hints
“Recently, I needed a plaintext list of all emails in my Address Book. Although Address Book has exporting capabilities, it exports all contact information. Needing only email addresses, I did the following:

  1. In Mail.app create a new message
  2. In Address Book, select all contacts (Command-A) and drag them to the To: field in Mail’s new message window
  3. Select the To: field and select all recipients (Command-A)
  4. Paste the resulting comma-separated email addresses wherever needed
  5. Last, but not least, delete new message without sending (unless you have something really important to communicate with everyone you know).”

Tempe / San Francisco Homes

Well, it’s official. After a grueling 14 hour, all-night drive, I am officially moved from Tempe to San Francisco. All of my junk is finally here. It’s a bit of a mess, but it’s here. It feels so good to be moved. Having some stuff here, and some in Tempe was anchoring me there. Even though I’ve been here full time since February, it didn’t really feel like I had actually moved.

I had a nice life in AZ, and I’ll really miss my friends (I wish they would move here too), but I am sooooo looking forward to a new chapter in my life in a new city, with a new girl. As you can see from the picture, it’s going to be a very different living experience for me. :)

Almost done

So I’ve been in Phoenix since Thursday afternoon. I’m here to finalize my move to San Francisco. We have had a couple of yard sales, and been cleaning up the house. Things are coming along nicely, but I can’t wait to be done. I’m looking forward to getting home (SF). Although I’m really not looking forward to that drive again. It’s so long and boring. I’ll be hitting the road early Monday morning. I miss anne marie, I can’t wait to see her.

It’s supposed to be 104 degrees here tomorrow :(

Apple PDA

Apple Insider recently covered Steve Jobs’ comments at this week’s “D: All Things Digital” conference, including a remark by Steve that Apple recently developed a PDA but decided not to ship it.

During a Q&A session, one individual pleaded with Jobs (as he clenched his Treo), begging for Apple to produce a PDA/Phone hybrid. Jobs told the audience member it would be best to remain happy with his Treo.

That’s a BIG bummer ! :( :( :(
